My Story

I'm Paige a Cancer survivor, I had Cancer when I was 7 years old. I think now is the time I share my story. It was 5am in the morning, I was screaming so loud.  My parents rushed into my room, as they came in I was vomiting. My dad carried me in his arms with a blanket. My mum and my dad took me to the hospital as fast as they could.

Once we got to the hospital my dad called for help. I was so frighted that I didn't even know what was going on. The nurse that was working at the counter saw us so she said "I NEED HELP on level one. When the staff heard, they came rushing. I was put on a stretcher. My dad whispered into my ear saying ''Everything will be alright''.  I spent 4 hours in the cyber room. Once I woke up my parents were holding my hand hoping that I was okay.

The doctor said'' I'm sorry but Paige's Cancer problem has spread". I asked the doctor " Will I die or will I need surgery". He said'' You'll need surgery". A few days later we received a letter saying that my surgery will be tomorrow. I felt excited but also scared. I was thinking, if I died in surgery, who would tell my friends or who would tell my family?

It was the day of the surgery, and because of that my mum started crying. I felt so sorry, I thought in my mind that I was the one who was the problem. Soon the surgeon came in with his nurses and pulled my bed into the cyber room to get my surgery. To be continued.........

How To Draw A Portrait Of A Friend Or Yourself

I am showing you how to draw a portrait so that if you want to be a artist you will already know the simple things.

First you need to draw a medium sized oval on your piece of paper.
Next you need to draw a lightly dotted line on where you want your eyes.
Then you draw 2 more dotted lines, one in the middle and one where you want your mouth.
After that draw half an oval on your top line.
Now draw half an oval on the bottom side of where you put your first oval.
Do the same thing on the other side of the face.
You can draw the nose triangular or 2d.
Next sketch the ears on both sides of the face.
After that draw lips on the bottom line of the face.
Then draw eyebrows (you can draw eyelashes if you want).
Draw your hair as long as you want or as short as you want.
Shade in the portrait so it can look realistic.
Lastly admire your portrait!

My Story Leave

I had a story yesterday which was called Leave. It is talking about a normal girl who's mum has to leave to go to the army. The setting was at home , the characters were mum, Jade and dad. There was something really naughty that Jade did, Jade stole her mums army hat and hid it. I think that the author is saying that we should respect our parents orders because it might be better for us.

The reason why Jades mum is going is because she is going to build a school where she is going. I think that Jades mum is doing a very good thing for other countries and hers. At the end Jade was sad to see her mum leave but she also knows that she is still going to see her. Jades mums said it will only be 2 more years, I think that is okay!

What Was In My Book

In my book it shows 4 boys waking up at 5:30 am just to go on a adventure. The setting was at camp, the characters were Josh,Luke, Ryan and one other boy but it does not say his name. When they were out exploring, Josh found a flying fox half covered from bushes. Once he saw it he wanted to ride it which was a bad idea because no one knows how long it has been there and the flying fox might be unstable.

I think that the author of the story which is Mark Sizer is trying to tell students like me not to try things without getting a adults permission. I agree because if the child who is trying something dangerous gets hurt they will need to be transferred to hospital.

The Artist

2 weeks ago the artist Ariel came to teach us some tips on how to make recycled artworks out of plants, berries, and food from the Tamaki Estuary. Each of us got to make a artwork based on the Tamaki Estuary, I drew Kowhais which was really hard to draw.

After that we got to draw a bird which was also hard. When we finished that we got to make pom poms which were so fluffy. I chose the colours dark blue, light blue and this really soft wool. It was really fun to make.

When we finished Alamoni thanked Ariel and Zoe for coming to teach us more about what we can make with the Tamaki Estuary.

Poly fest, A Hit With The Public

Over thousands of schools from the Pacific participated at Poly Fest last week. Poly Fest is 4 days of cultural performances and food. Prime Minister Jacinda Adrern was the first Labour prime minister to attend Poly Fest.  "We will be a nation where 1 - 5 in the future will be Maori or Pasifika - that is who we are", she said. I think that Jacinda Adrern enjoyed all the performances the are cultural.

Prime Minister Visits Pacific Islands

Prime minister Jacinda Ardern is going to
visit the beautiful islands of Samoa, Niue,
Tonga and the Cook Islands. I think that every
village or island will have a wonderful welcoming
for our prime minister.

During her trip to Samoa she announced that
$3 million worth of extra funding has been committed to Samoa to help with the recovery of Cyclone Gita last month. She also said that $6.5 million will be donated and given out to every business in Samoa.
