Black Lives Matter!

New Zealand police have decided to not shut down all BLM protests. New Zealanders people still are marching through the city protesting justice for George Floyd and every person affected for something they didn't do just because of the colour of their skin.

However, new national leader Todd Muller is disappointed as he thinks that the NZ government has sent wrong messages and that many people are breaking a lot of rules. Organisers of the protests say they tried their hardest to provide hand sanitizer for protesters.

I think protesting is good as it might bring justice to all those people who have passed but it can risk someone getting the virus as people don't know each other. Stay safe and if you are deciding to protest take face masks and every other thing that protects you!

Coronavirus In NZ!😷

As everyone knows, Coronavirus has been spreading all around the world. Now it has hit New Zealand. What happened was a 60 year-old from Iran flew into our country earlier this week with the virus. The man that came into New Zealand has now been quarantined in Auckland City Hospital.

According to Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield, if the Coronavirus starts spreading from one person to the other, people will die!  They were saying that Australia has only been having a small amount of cases and deaths so it's most likely we should expect that too.

One kiwi had just returned to New Zealand from Italy saying that she's putting herself in self-isolation to prevent others from getting the virus in case they have it.

Rats Wash Up On Westport Beaches!

In totally around 600 rats have been recovered with experts concerned that more may follow.

Some of the rats have been sent for testing as the Department of Conservation to find out why it happened. 

Some people believe the rats could have washed out of the hills by heavy rain after a 1080 poison operation 140km away. However, most experts are ruling this out.

Locals are being warned to keep their dogs off the beaches.

NZ Loses Worlds Steepest Street Record!

Sadly Baldwin street in Dunedin has lost the title for the steepest street in the world. In Harlech, Wales the street Ffordd Pen Llech has one the title over NZ. Baldwin street has been the steepest street in the world for 32 years.

I think people who live on Baldwin street are kind of sad that their street isn't the steepest street in the world anymore. Hopefully in the future our street can win the title again.
