Netball

As some people know, yesterday was netball interschools which basically means "competing against other schools". I was very excited and tried to get as much sleep as possible which was kind of hard because I couldn't go to sleep. The netball team for the Y7 and Y8's were - Leanah, Mary Ruth, Nataaliyah, Agueer, Madisyn, Kotipi, Konzay, Leaaepeni, Tristan and I.

I was happy to represent my school in netball even though we came 13th out of 20. I thought my team could've done better but I think it's because we didn't practise as much as other schools.

The Schools We Played Were:
Glen Innes Red
St Pius
Sylvia Park Green
Pt England Black
Glen Brae
And Panmure Bridge School

I was proud of my team, hopefully we could play together sometime in the future!!

A Rail From Hamilton To Auckland?

In Hamilton funding has given that city a new rail service from Hamilton to Auckland. This new service is going to take place in Hamilton next year. It will cost around $92 million from funding to pay for the railing.

The transport minister Phil Twyford is saying that more and more people are travelling between these two cities so whats better than to make a rail. I think it's a great idea to make this train rail!

Christchurch Is The Friendliest City In NZ?

In New Zealand some travellers come around to look at our fine cities but what really caught their eye was Christchurch. They think Christchurch is the most friendliest because the people who live in Christchurch have a positive and friendly attitude.

When it comes to the worlds friendliest city Vancouver already took the title. I've been to Christchurch and I agree that people their have a friendly attitude.

The New Wellington Sculpture

A new sculpture has been shown to all of New Zealand and it's known as "Quasi" The sculpture is of a hand with a face on it, it's a five metre tall sculpture created by Ronnie van Hout. It's a tough sculpture because it's balancing on two fingers and is probably the weight of 10 men.

I personally think the hand is kind of creepy for me because when I look at the face I imagine it falling on me, even though I don't live in Wellington. I wonder what the people who live in Wellington think about the sculpture.

Guns Stolen From A Police Car🚓

Last night a bunch of guns were stolen from a police car in Gore. When the policemen were chasing the car on foot the criminals ran to the police car and started driving off. As the criminals were in the police car they also stole a bag of weapons from the car.

I think the policemen shouldn't of left their vehicle. They should've kept chasing the criminals in their vehicle instead of running on foot.

Stepping Into The Future...

In New Zealand The Warehouse decided to create New Zealand's first ever online shopping mall. A lot of people who now know about this are very excited to have our first online shopping mall. The new website that we are looking forward to costs $12 million New Zealand dollars to build which is a lot.

I think its a good idea that The Warehouse decided to put up an online shop because sometimes people are very tired to go and pick up their own shopping and actually buy the shopping. There are 9% of New Zealanders who buy online, 14% in America, 18% in UK and more than 20% in China.

VTNZ Demanding For More Pay?

VTNZ are complaining because they want more pay. They are currently getting paid $22.50 an hour but the workers say its not the price they should get paid. Workers of VTNZ are speaking out saying the they love their job but at times it's risky and dangerous but the cars always come out perfectly!

They said they only want a fair increase, they have to deal with people who come out of jail and they sometimes get chased around the cars which ends up having the police involved.  I think they should get an increased pay after the way people are treating the workers!
