Tamaki Estuary!

Yesterday all classes had to experience fresh air at Tamaki Estuary which is at Dunkirk Rd, Panmure. Older classes got paired up with younger kids to pick up rubbish, there was a lot! A lot of kids found rubbish under the bushes, beneath rocks, behind the trees and next to the rocks.

My partner was Emeline who knew a lot about the environment that we were in. She explained to me that on Friday as they were coming to the same place she and her fellow classmates found cigarette packets next to rocks and milk cartons in the grass about to fall into the stream.

After walking a long way from one side of the estuary to the other we finally stopped to have lunch which was what we wanted after a long walk. I had learnt a lot about the environment and about how big of a difference there is between the Tamaki Estuary water and the water at Panmure Basin!
