Compostable Apples!
In New Zealand there is a apple company known as "Bostock New Zealand" who are placing compostable stickers onto their apples. The company says that the new stickers would maybe come out next year because the company is still in the process of making it.
The new stickers are way more expensive than the plastic stickers but the company hopes that people would like the stickers better than the plastic ones.
I think it's a good idea that a company finally makes compostable stickers to make the animals and the environment happy!

Fungal Disease Spreading To Birds
For the last few months in New Zealand many kakapo have died because of a deadly disease that has spread to many birds. In New Zealand there are 35 kakapos in the country that are only in 3 main hospitals of New Zealand.
It's sad that one of New Zealand's native birds are dying because of a deadly disease that soon might effect the kiwis and many more native animals! New Zealand only has about 160 birds of this kind still alive. A kakapo called Nora 1-A has been announced as the sickest kakapo being treated. Try to help the birds stay alive!

The End Of Rippa Rugby
The rippa rugby sessions that room 9 to 12 have now ended. It's sad that rippa rugby had to end but we did learn a lot about how to pass, throw and actually play rippa rugby! Unfortunately during our last session room 9 won 3 rugby balls from our coach Corey who told us that who ever has the most points by throwing would win.

Queens Birthday Honours Kiwi Legends
This year the Queens birthday is honouring kiwi legends. The list includes 183 wonderful people who have made our country a better place. On the list it contains brand new dames and knights. The people on the list are known for many things such as thinking about our country before themselves.
Honours don't come so easy because the people who decide about giving people honours are Jacinda Ardern, the 12 person cabinet appointments and Honours committee. In my opinion I think it's a great idea that the queens birthday is dedicated to the knights and dames.
