During the school holidays Prince William came to New Zealand to meet survivors and the families that suffered the loss of a family member during the Christchurch mosque. The prince met about 160 survivors and family members of the victims at the mosque. In room 12 we had a lock down practise to prepare ourselves if something bad as the Christchurch mosque happened.
Prince William had a speech that he shared to New Zealand saying that our response to the shooting was an example to inspire the world. He congratulated the work that the emergency staff, the police and the hospital staff put into to protect the citizens. I thought it was a great idea to have prince William visit, because having someone from the Royal Family is a great honour.
Yesterday we met New Zealand singer Sam Verlinden. He took us students through his journey of what he did to make his career come true. Sam made us students laugh, and cheer by demonstrating how he makes his songs. He then showed us his new song Jumble 2.0. As he was showing us how he makes his songs he included how Duffy books helped him through his journey. He then assisted Mrs Pedesern by shaking the students' hand after receiving their Duffy books.
